The Prehistoric Museum invites you to meet The Man from Tautavel, the oldest human found on French soil (-450 000 years old). The Prehistoric Museum exhibits exceptional archeological collections via modern museographic means so that the past becomes comprehensible for everyone.
Inaugurated in 1992, the new Tautavel Museum, The European Prehistoric Centre, is an extraordinary aid to bringing the science concerned with archeology and particularly the quarternary period of prehistoric times to the attention of the public .
