The Animal Park at Casteil, is first of all a peaceful oasis, in perfect communion with nature. Just think for a moment: A zoo spread over 20 hectares, right in the middle of the 2983 hectare village, at the foot of the Tower of Goa, between 797m (the territory of the bears) and 967 m altitude (deer territory), a small river that one crosses via the « Lynx Eye Bridge » and breathtaking views over the Cady valley, the Abbey of Saint-Martin du Canigou, the valley descending to Vernet les Bains, the small village of Casteil and, of course, of the Canigou (the sacred mountain of the Catalans). A flagged path that one can take in one direction or another, as you wish, at your pace. Numerous seats are set out along the path which measures almost 3,5 kms.
