At Odeillo, it's difficult to tell which energy is the most powerful:  The energy from the Sun, multiplied by a fabulous field of mirrors or that of the Scientists who work to share their knowledge with the Public.  The Solar Furance is a CNRS laboratory (National Scientific Research Centre).

You can judge for yourselves when you visit!  Famous all over the world for its exceptional architecture, the largest Solar Furnace in the world attracts numerous visitors.

Discover:  The Great Solar Furnace at Odeillo Exhibition, « The Taming of the Sun » and its video film (seating 100 people).

Here, you will discover the mysteries of the temple of the Sun and its rôle in the domain of Scientific Research.
Interactive teaching aids explain the physical principles of the conversion of different energy sources  (water, wind, geothermal energy, the sun), the characteristics of light (composition, propagation, absorption, reflection, concentration), the history of the Solar Station THEMIS, the history and latest news concerning events at the Solar Furnace in Odeillo.
A solar fusion simulator and a film on present research in the laboratory ends the visit.

And, as the world of research evolves, the exhibition does the same by proposing regularly new models and demonstration systems!
