Wild animals which live or have lived in the Pyrenees.

The Angles Animal Park can be found on the site of Pla del Mir, with its 37 hectares of forest.
We have chosen to show here only the animals which live or have lived in the Pyrenean mountain chain.

By walking along the specially adapted paths in the Animal Park, the visitor can observe the animals in their natural habitat.

Discover all the animals with the family:
The brown bear:  The mythical animal of the Pyrenees,

The wolf:  Just as mythical as the bear, but also surrounded by legends of cruelty,

The wild boar:  « The black beast », who likes water and mud baths,

The deer:  Noble and majestuous,

The roe-deer:  Alert and elegant,

The mouflon sheep:  Introduced to the Carlit mountain range around 30 years ago,

The isard, Pyrenean mountain goat:  Fine horns and an elegant sihouette,

The marmots:  They have a free run of the park,

The bouquetin (mountain goat):  Extraordinary agility,

The bison:  The largest animal in the park; its silhouette is painted in the caves in the Pyrenees,

The reindeer:  Also associated to the life of our prehistoric ancestors,

The fallow deer:  Re-introduced by the Romans during the Gallic conquest …

This animal park allows you to discover the fauna but also the flora of the Pyrenees.  Here you will find a superb place for a walk with the family or with friends.
