A protective fort perched above Villefranche de Conflent (one of the Most beautiful villages in France in the Pyrenees-Orientales).

Fort Liberia is the lookout post of Villefranche de Conflent (listed by the UNESCO World Heritage).  This monument was built by Vauban in 1681 and was fortified by Napoleon 3rd.  Come and wander through the remparts, the galeries and the counter-scarp as well as the underground tunnel linking the fort to the town.

Open from July to August from 9am until 8pm.
Open from May to June from 10am until 7pm.
Open during other periods from 10am until 6pm.
Admission fee for the fort.
