On almost 2200 hectares, the nature reserve spreads from 720m up to 2663m.
Mysterious countryside in the Nyer gorges, to the dizzying summits of the Pic de Serra Gallina and those of Tres Esteles, the flora will delight you by its diversity (more than 800 varieties of plants, amongst which some are protected). In this world, inhabited by isards, Pyrenean mountain goats, wild cats, roe deer, ermines … the life of raptors (golden eagle, lammergeyer …) is facilitated by the abondonance of cliffs. But birds of passage, such as the blue rock thrush or the wood lark, are also frequent visitors to the reserve!
In its educational and environmental mission, the reserve offers activities which are adapted to different types of public (school trips, access for the disabled ...).
The site is run by the General Council of the Pyrenees-Orientales.
