Inaugurated in 1992, the new museum at Tautavel, European Centre of Prehistoric Times, is a fabulous tool to make the science of archeology and, more particularly, prehistoric times known to the public concerning the quaternary Mediterranean period.

Through the 22 rooms, the Museum of Prehistoric Times invites you to meet the man from Tautavel, the oldest man found on French soil (-450 000 years old!)
Exceptional archeological collections, presented by way of modern museography, so that this remote past becomes comprehensible for everyone.
