A listed and protected site. It is without doubt the first inhabited place in Saint-Paul de Fenouillet.
In a large cleft in the middle of high rock faces, the fresh water of the Agly bubbles and gurgles, then becomes calmer as the water gets deeper. On the steep slopes, juniper, savin and cyclamen bravely cling.
A winding road dominates the gorges. The natural grottos became, as early as the 7th century, a refuge for hermits. The exceptional location of the Hermitage, suspended on the side of the rock face, has become a sought after place for film makers.
