Already, the plain seems far away, the land starts to climb. Its curves are sometimes arid and rocky where vineyards face the sun (Agly and Fenouilledes), then, a little further on, the landscape starts to change, an intense green takes over, sprinkled here and there with cooling streams which snake along tracks to irrigate the peach fields (Conflent). Then further on, leafy and mysterious, cherry trees, cork oaks and curious legends … (Vallespir).
